Unlike the Fast Paced adoption of Mother’s Day, it took many years to make Father’s Day official! After the celebrations in 1908, a US Government Bill was introduced in the Mid 1920s with the approval of President Calvin Coolidge but NO advancement. Also at about that same time, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City. Then President Lyndon Johnson made a Proclamation in the Mid 1960s but it wasn't made a Government recognized Holiday until the Mid 1970s during the President Richard Nixon administration.
Father's Day History and Fun Facts

On this Holiday, Father’s Day gift spending is about 1/2 of Mother's Day... Maybe because whatever Dad wants, he usually goes out and buys!?!!
